I ‘am the direct descendant from my mother’s lineage, of the family Campos – Garcia my family roots of Hebraic Catholics (Conversos) of Sephardic Jewish descent of Castilian Spanish from Campo de Criptana, Castille-La Mancha, Spain origin that fled Spain and settled in Aleppo Syria– and around the Turkish border then back to Spain in the Late 1700s, With a Ha Levi relative of my Grandfathers maternal family Saavedra from the tribe of Levi, burned at the stake in 1511 for reverting back to Sephardim. All before migrating to New Mexico in the mid to late 1800s. Many of my Family members became Nuns and Priests. All firstborn Sons from then on became Priests via tradition. And as for Me:

The name Garcia was possibly a Basque surname called “Gaztea”, and later was Castilianized, into the medieval Kingdom of Castile, becoming “García”.
